Will Joe Biden be the next president?

Does anyone think Biden is playing all his cards by appointing this half caste coloured girl? It's bound to upset traditionalists, Americans are not known for their tolerance of anyone non white.

Maybe on that side of the pond it's not such a vulgar and derogatory term.

Says who? The liberals who hate America and who have convinced poor black people that they are victims and have no way off the plantation? But not to worry, they'll (the Democrats) take care of everything because they're "good" people and they care unlike those evil Republicans. Sadly this lie has been selling for 50 years. I think it is far past its expiration date. Funny how people of color from all over the world flock to the US and have a great deal of success. Do you think they're stupid for coming? Or maybe, they know something you don't know.

Given that blacks represent approximately 12% of the US population, I wonder how they could possibly have elected a half caste colored boy all by themselves? TWICE!!! My step-mother who is black and an immigrant from Nevis voted for Obama because he is black. My father voted for Obama because he was a Democrat. Neither of them voted for Obama in 2012 because they are not stupid people and could clearly see what a fraud Obama turned out to be.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Biden has been fooling people for 50 years. I think his racist remarks and his family's profiteering off of his elected offices all these years is finally grating on people. Neither Biden nor his family will ever be prosecuted for profiteering because they never broke US law and people who are pushing for that should just stop. It's as bad as the push to impeach Trump over made up charges. However anyone with a brain can see that the Chinese government who gave Hunter Biden, a no name with no track record in running a hedge fund, 1.5 billion dollars to invest for them expects to get something for their money. Gee, I wonder what it could be? Just listen to Joe talking about how China is no threat to us and you'll get the picture. The Chinese are getting exactly what they paid for. It was a good investment and if somehow Biden manages to get elected, their investment will pay off in spades. Talk about the Manchurian Candidate. Here he is folks.

Says the guy who calls Japanese japs
Yes, Japanese Japs, Australian Aussies, British Brits, American Yanks, Italian Ities, French Frogs, Turkish Turks, Swedish Sweeds - shall I go on? All normal in the UK. Come on, get a grip on real life, not the false patronising one to make you look good, faking shock, expressing false opinions, just see what happens in real life.

I get the whole yanken Yankees thing, that's cool. But you take it to the extreme for laughs.

He has a history on mocking others to amuse himself. Just like the one who is not around anymore. It's not a matter of a difference between the sides of the pond. It's just the lack of caring and politeness.

It mostly comes across as a laughable & incredibly transparent jealousy with a teaspoon of bitterness thrown in.

Even if normal in UK, you know there are a lot of members from different countries and it's not normal there. But still you use them.

I try to avoid too many epithets, though for certain politicians I think both "chowderhead" and "dunderhead" are appropriate.

It may interest you to know, I have (under normal times) around six different French females staying with me throughout the summer. (One at a time)
We discuss many topics during their stay, they love the English stereotype of French people, like a blue striped jumper, wearing a beret, onions round the neck riding a pushbike, eating frogs legs and snails. They don't find it at all offensive, even being called 'frogs'. It's just part of life, we all know its exaggerated and just a laugh. Just like the French think English men wear bowler hats, wear a suit and always have a rolled umbrella.
Australians like being called 'Aussies' just as they call the British 'Pommies', it's not offensive, it's normal and I stick by my previous post, we also refer to a Chinese takeaway as a 'Chinky' - a friend recently rang me and asked if I wanted to have a Chinky, I'm not sure what circles the Brits here move in, but it's not the fundamental normal level. Maybe in posh circles it is not PC, but at grass root level it is, and not targeted at racism or anything, it's more affectionate.
The French don't care, the Brits don't care being called Pommies or Limeys. I can't see what the problem is honestly. Jesus, people need to lighten up and have a laugh, especially in such trying times. There's no malice in it, it's more a nickname.
I will say it's a different thought using the 'n' word when referring to black people, although I notice they use it a lot which is confusing if it's deemed offensive. Half caste refers to mixed race parents like that gold digging 2nd rate actress Yank Meghan. It's been mentioned on TV news that Biden is playing the 'look at me I employ women and coloured ones at that, so vote for me' card.

I agree on the over sensitivity. That being said, I am certain your use of half-caste hints at inferiority due to them being of mixed race, if not then way even menton it? Hiding behind a technical definition does not make you right.

"Half-caste" is a socio-economic slur whereas "mixed race" is a simple statement of fact.

In the current "BLM" climate, things are a bit "touchy" right now. We just had a big deal where one of the pro football teams abandoned a team name with racial implications.

I just read an article titled something like: "So-and-so speaks out for the first time" after someone threw him a piece of fruit.

I had to smile a little...it used to be that the phrase "speaks out for the first time" was used for someone who was shocked and traumatized into silence after an extremely life altering and harrowing experience, such as being viciously assaulted, accused of a terrible crime, near-death experience, etc.

Now we have young people who sigh heavily, perceiving the weight of the world on their shoulders, as they finally "tell-all" during the recovery process indicated from the experience of being thrown a piece of fruit.

After reading the full article with all context, it seems the throwing of fruit was probably innocently motivated (and that seemed to be the consensus), but I wonder sometimes if civilizations that come after us will wonder certain things. Like, why was tossing someone a piece of fruit considered the world's biggest political/social offense. They might discover it from reading a LOT of books and piecing things together, but it's a heck of a stretch...and might be difficult to do, since current generation hasn't even heard of Books and I doubt servers will still be good when they dig up our ruins LOL.

I see why they only gave Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez one minute. She makes Joe Biden look like a Republican.

No mention of Biden even though she was there to spread propaganda, oops I mean endorse Joe.

I hereby second the nomination of Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont for president of the United States of America.

I heard from NBC that there exists some rational explanation for the fact that she endorsed/nominated nobody except Bernie. Something about how the nomination process formally works. But I have to admit I did not understand precisely what that was. And perhaps the most important thing isn't what the explanation is, it's the fact that most average people watching TV will react the same way I did: Hmmm, I watched what seemed to be pretty much everyone get on camera and say "I give xx [small number] of votes to Bernie Sanders, and xxxx [large number] to the next president of the united states, Joe Biden". Then AOC gets on camera and says I nominate Bernie Sanders. Regardless of the protocol-based explanation, it came across very poorly I think, and probably confused viewers and made it look like she was rebelling against something.
