So if the politicians decided this, then 25 people out of all of Europe (25 member states of the EU) decided that the seal hunt is wrong. :p
I'm pretty confident that they had the support of most Europeans, unlike Bliar and the war in Iraq

Now you're back to the "most Europeans" thing. Care to try again?

most usually means majority, is it different over there?

Well I asked you to prove your "most Europeans" claim. You said the EU was banning seal products. That decision was supported by "most Europeans."

So basically you tried to prove your first claim with the same statement.

I would have thought politicians mature enough to make up their own minds, wouldn't you?

Every other sentence you write has some kind of negative comment about politicians. :D

It also hasn't been disproven that seal hunting is any worse than hunting other animals.

I've never hunted before (never touched a gun and never will). But I still believe others should be able to hunt, as long as it's within the laws in that jurisdiction. The seal hunt falls into those laws.

Sounds a bit circular to me or am I being a little paranoid :p

Yes but given that they chop and change this ban's been in place since the mid 60s.
They can't all have been wrong over such a long period surely, after all they're not Republicans:cool:

To bring this thread back in line - not easy with so many paranoid people about.

The seal hunt is not wrong, I never said it was - its the method of using the club with the nail in it that offends people.

I understand that culls need to take place, there was one here a few years back about badgers.

I started this thread to dicuss the method of the cull not the cull itself. I am not knowledgable about guns - I've never seen a real one, I've never done hunting, so asking a hunter (Ken) for his opinion seemed logical. Ken felt it wasn't his way of hunting. Thats cool. I also asked if anyone fancied doing it themselves.

I was hoping to get comments like some people were happy with the current method and others wern't.

People do things the world over that seem "extreme" to us in the UK - but is normal practice for them. The seal cull with clubs and nails is one of those things to discuss in a civil manner - which Rich and I try to do:D .
