Love makes good people do bad things. Shall we prohibit that too?

Lets keep calm guys. All I ask for is the freedom not to believe in what I consider to be a fairy story - Father Christmas seems a better bet if I have to believe in something. However I feel the same freedom should be extended to everyone to believe what they feel is true but they should not be allowed to force their views on other people. Organised religions(or Love) should not be banned but they should not be allowed to preach hatred and encourage people to be violent to other people.

I suspect that the problem with organised religions is that they are primarily human organisations and have all the faults of human organisations.

Science can only describe/explain phenomena that exist within the limitations of space and time. Beyond those limits, science cannot go except in speculation. That's reality, as I see it. If you disagree then fine. Show me where I'm wrong. My rationale: God, if he exists, created space and time. He isn't limited by them. Science can NEVER get a handle on God. He's beyond the scope of our very existence. He's not some clever fellow playing harps on a cloud who we can send a plane up to photograph; he's not some cowardly alien 'hiding' behind Alpha Centauri; he's GOD.

It is not my position to require evidence of God to justify the possibility of it. That is the thread starters. My position is, is that it is incorrect to deny the possibility of a thing that by definition is beyond your scope of comprehension.

I would like to think that Dawkins suggested correlation between spirituality and lack of intelligence can now be taken with a pinch of salt.

As a complete aside - at my local church, there was a monk/priest - I can't remember which, who fell in the garden of the monastery(old priest/monk home) and died, this was announced at mass.

I agree with your sentiments about the thread, as one who has not studied all the literature mentioned I found it interesting but feel that there is a fundamental flaw to some of the arguments.

There will never be any prove of a God unless He shows Himself, however no matter what science shows or proves will not disprove the possibility of a God as the hand of a God may still be behind the big bang, evolution or whatever, infact it will never be possible to disprove the existence of a God, but I like everybody else do not know if one or more exist, or it is just a fantasy or hope born out of Faith, frustration ,desperation or just a need.
