Gun laws do they work

Know it well, I have preached near there many times, and also had a booth at the Ft. Myers fair.

A "booth"? Is that what Americans call a Bunco Booth? Where the person stands and fleeces the punters of all their money mostly by conning them like find the lady card tricks, or preaching fire and brimstone or selling bottles of Dr Good.

As Americans are so gullible, I suppose it is a lucrative sideline, who cares if people lose all their money.

I think most people that have assault or sniper rifles have them strictly for the fun of shooting them off, but obviously in a safe and secure manner. As most civilian shootings in the world are personal and not random acts of violence, the tool that is used can change and people will still do what they intend to do to the other person. It's actually pretty rare that people die for random crimes in the US when compared to murder with no other crime intended.

It seems people have just lost their minds and refuse to resolve issues with others in a non-violent manner.

Over the course of the 4th there were many murders in Chicago. To the best of my knowledge no one of those was with a legally bought or resisted weapon, and Chicago has some of the strongest gun laws

You sure are sharp Col, can't put anything over on you, can we. Keep up the good work.

Vass, is it necessary to post the same post twice?

A new rule perhaps?

Faux News is pretty unreliable.

Jax,
It's what I always say. It's who you believe, gun control, global warming, immigration and the list goes on. In one way I am forced to go to Fox as I wouldn't hear anything about it on the drive-by's. It wouldn't surprise me if that research was done by S&W, Colt, but even so, where else would I hear about it.

On today's BBC news website - six people shot dead in a Texas house near Houston, including four children.

Easy isn't it.

Col

(Easy isn't it) Unfortunately, for the rest of us, my good man, it is very easy for some people to kill. How they can live with themselves is beyond my comprehension.

Still, as you always carry a gun, if you need to kill someone before they kill you then you will know how they live with taking a human life.

How true, how true!!!!

I have always wondered if I would feel different doing it in self defense than someone who does it for a few bucks. I hope I never have to find out.

You are not actually going to suggest that if the eleven year old in the lead story had been armed it would not have happened are you?

Brian

Chicago's anti gun laws are a red herring loved by gun nuts, unless it has tight border controls banning guns in a city surrounded by a country with lax laws is a recipe for disaster, the law enforcement has to be country wide, I would have thought that even the most stupid gun lover would have realised that.

I am not suggesting anything. The question is what do you suggest that Chicago do?

Having only been to Chicago a few times and not really into downtown Chicago, I'm not sure it's a place you can compare to most other US cities. They have their own particular problems, especially financial issues with an awful lot of poverty. Could this possibly be part of the issue? With extreme poverty comes a particular set of issues that can be very difficult to overcome.
