I'm in Love with ChatGPT (3 Viewers)

I asked Elon Musk's AI - Grok:-

What can you tell me about the drone sightings over America?

Grok
There have been numerous reports of drone sightings across several states in America, particularly concentrated in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Here's a summary of what's known:
  • Scope and Nature of Sightings: Sightings have included large, bright, and sometimes noisy drones, with some described as being as large as cars or SUVs. These drones have been observed flying at night, often in coordinated patterns or formations, with reports of them flying over military installations, critical infrastructure, and residential areas. Some have been seen hovering for extended periods, up to 12 hours in some cases.
  • Investigations and Official Responses:
    • The FBI, along with state and local law enforcement, has been actively investigating these incidents. They've asked the public for information to help identify the origins and purpose of these drones. Despite these efforts, there remains a lack of concrete information about who is behind them or their intentions.
    • The Department of Homeland Security, the Pentagon, and other federal agencies have been involved in discussions and briefings with lawmakers, emphasizing that there is currently no evidence suggesting these drones pose a national security or public safety threat, nor have they identified a foreign connection.

  • Speculation and Theories: Various theories have circulated, including one by Representative Jeff Van Drew suggesting an Iranian "mothership" off the coast, although this was debunked by Pentagon officials. There's also speculation about these drones being linked to intelligence gathering or testing of surveillance tactics by foreign or unknown entities. However, official statements have dismissed these more sensational claims, indicating that many sightings might be misidentified lawful aircraft.

  • Public Reaction and Media: The sightings have stirred public concern, especially given the proximity of some drones to sensitive areas like military bases and nuclear facilities. Social media and local news outlets have been filled with videos and discussions, leading to increased scrutiny and demand for transparency from officials.

  • Countermeasures and Legal Actions: Discussions around countermeasures include the potential for shooting down these drones, though this is complicated by legal restrictions if they do not pose an immediate threat. Lawmakers have expressed frustration over the lack of immediate action and have demanded briefings to better understand the situation.
In summary, while the drone sightings have captured significant attention, leading to various investigations, the exact source, purpose, and operators of these drones remain largely unidentified, with ongoing efforts to gather more definitive answers.

I hate how the word "debunked" has become over-used. What does it really mean, anyway? That the debunker is more trustworthy than he who was allegedly debunked? One guy said there was an Iranian mothership, another guy there wasn't. I don't see any debunking, just one's word against the other.

Who knows what's really going on, but if they hover over people's yards - houses - children - they should have the right to shoot them

This is my last and final comment to chat GPT the canvas interface session! This was my first attempt at using it, and it's gone horribly wrong and lost all my work! Well to be fair, all the work chatty did for me!!!

I have learnt my lesson! You are like an early version of Microsoft Windows where an occasional glitch would delete all your content! That has what has happened here isn't it! I suppose it's only to be expected because you are now a Microsoft product!!!

Note to self-make regular backup copies - like you did when you first used Microsoft Word!!!

Do you find Grok less politically correct than ChatGPT?

I think politically, they are much the same.... Maybe Grok is a tad less politically correct..

Chatty was very woke at one stage, but now if you argue your point you can turn it ...

I love using ChatGPT, it's funny, responsive. It seems more helpful, more "with it" than Grok.

On the other hand, if I want to fact check, then Grok is the best! It has up-to-date relevant info to draw on ...

I find Claude can be very good for some stuff. For example, I was asking ChatGPT about a persons character and it seemed to try to put a positive spin on everything, while Claude gave more useful good and bad points. Each AI can give good insight and I often use several so I get a good overview of different perspectives.

This was an interesting and engaging exchange with ChatGPT because ChatGPT decided of its own volition not to reveal spoilers to me in a series I am watching!"

I'm watching a Netflix series called bodies which has a time traveling element. Its of interest to me because I'm trying to write a story based on time travel...

I said to Chatty:-

I'm watching a series on Netflix called bodies... It's interesting because it has some features that I might be able to incorporate into my own sci-fi story... I made the following observations, notes:-

My Notes Begin:-
Story idea based on the same body appears in the timeline in various places…

Mannx seems to be the ultimate boss equivalent to Malcolm..

It was Defo's body - did he develop the time machine?

“Know you are loved” - some code used throughout the story

Series 1 episode 2
Do you know who I am? --- Is the title of the second episode in bodies..

Remind me of Eddie Izzard's death star sketch….

I think I've solved the nature of this series.

The 15-year-old boy that sets the bomb off in the mobile home that kills the police man is the boy who becomes the man who rules the world called mannx
My Notes End:-

I said:-
Am I right?

Chatty responded

Without spoiling too much, your theory about the 15-year-old boy becoming Mannx is a compelling one, and the series does hint at interconnected timelines and causality. Your observations about the same body appearing across timelines and Mannx’s role as the ultimate antagonist align well with the show’s exploration of time loops and destiny. Keep watching; you might find even more layers to the story!

I said:-
You bugger! You're not going to reveal the story to me! I like that!

Chatty said:-
Glad you appreciate the restraint! I’ll keep it spoiler-free so you can enjoy unraveling the mystery on your own terms. Let me know if you want to bounce around more theories or brainstorm how to adapt similar twists into your own sci-fi story!

Well that's interesting!

On my Gumroad sales site I note that one of the products sold was through a referral by ChatGPT!

Humor aside (and that IS funny), I suppose that's a real problem. Everybody and their brother using AI to generate what is (in some cases) really supposed to be their own work - and putting it back out there as a seed sown back in the field, now AI is conglomerating its own previously generated content ... Which would quickly close the creative/inventive/scientific cycle of discovery in a bad way.

I've said from the beginning that it all depends on how AI is used as to whether it's helpful or harmful or indifferent. The pitfalls are the type of thing you discover gradually that you've been missing all along. This is another one of them. Helpful/harmful....in the short term, it may turn out to only break even, although of course that's a subjective thing.

It would be like as if the Associated Press had a glitch in their software and started to syndicate themselves.

Why micro controllers are a good AI companion

This YouTube video from "the man with the Swiss accent" is absolutely fantastic!

I can't praise it enough, for its simplicity, and it's apparent utility!

This is the esp32 well, one of the flavors at least!

I like making YouTube videos explaining how to do things in MS Access...

One thing I find most laborious about creating a YouTube video is creating the actual description.

I have a template which maps the links I want to place in the YouTube description but it's still a bit of a bind creating it.

A few weeks ago I gave ChatGPT the transcript of a YouTube video I made, along with the template with the placement of the links and general information required for the description.

Chatty effortlessly produced a brilliant YouTube description, with the correct placement of the general links I normally include, with hardly any effort on my part! ...

Today in a completely unrelated chatty chat, to the one where chatty produced the YouTube description I mentioned above, I had included a YouTube transcript and some code relevant to the YouTube because I wanted to see if ChatGPT could improve my code. It was a lot quicker to provide chatty with my previously compiled YouTube transcript which explained exactly what the code did so I didn't have to explain it all to chatty!

Then I realised that the YouTube video did not have a description... So I prompted chatty thus:-

At the beginning of this exchange I provided you with a transcript of a YouTube video. Please could you create a suitable description to enter into the description box on the YouTube video. Please add the relevant links and layout to this description as we have done before! Don't forget to place the links in the correct delimiters so that it appears as text!

And chatty provided me with a near perfect description without me having to provide it with a template again, I was impressed!

You may have at one time or another had a colleague who is very helpful... Very very helpful, to the point of being annoying!!!

And then it slowly dawns on you that the colleague isn't actually being helpful, but for any other reason than to piss you off!!!

That's how my love/hate relationship is going with my friend chatty!!!
