In case anyone thought racism in America was dead . . .

I don't want much to change. And I certainly don't want any change Obama is likely to institute.

Well think of it this way. We've had many leaders from your generation. And with every successive leader, my future and my children's futures get dimmer. Why don't you stay out of it for once, and let those of us who have to live with the consequences make the choice this time?

I don't want much to change.

More banks going to the wall, more bankruptcies, more homes re-possessed, more useless wars in foreign lands that the US doesn't understand
Why would Americans want a change:confused:

Here is more of it ... from Senator Obama at a campaign rally.

Code:
"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.

And if they tell you that, ‘Well, we’re not sure where he stands on guns.’ I want you to say, ‘He believes in the Second Amendment.’ If they tell you, ‘Well, he’s going to raise your taxes,’ you say, ‘No, he’s not, he’s going lower them.’ You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case.”

In case you missed it, Obama said it.

Well, it doesn't sound too good. If I were you, I would now go dig up something worse that McCain has said. But I'm not, so I will leave it at that.

I'll give you the one on the war - although I disagree with your stance
(no, I don't care to debate THAT issue with you;) ).

However, in the US, the Congress makes the laws and does the spending. The president can veto them, but that's about as far as his job goes. The laws that caused the current financial problems were created by DEMOCRATS. Don't blame Bush for problems caused by people like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.

So if none of the US's present problems are the fault of the president what the hell's the point of having one at all

We've had no leaders from my generation. And that's a pessimistic view. How do expect things to change for the better for you if you project your future so negatively. I'd say from what I've read that you have a pretty bright future.

Why don't you stay out of it for once, and let those of us who have to live with the consequences make the choice this time?

In case anyone thought age discrimination in America was dead.

So, I'm too old, feeble, smelly, to make a decision about who I'd like to administer my country? Nobody thought that when most of the people my age were liberals.

Edit: forgot one: wrinkly

So you'll have someone to hate.

The President is the administrator. He carries some weight and has a budget. His word can influence a goodly number of people. But he doesn't make the big decisions, except to kill bills (not a movie).

How can I expect things to change for the better when HALF of this country shuns an inspiring, intelligent, and rational leader in favor of an sick old man who dreams of nothing but war?

Instead of many leaders FROM your generation, I meant to say many leaders CHOSEN BY your generation.

So much for the medicare votes if Obama went out and said things like that.

That's twice ... changing Title topic since this thread has changed.

Except declare unwarranted and illegal wars

Don't forget, they can also appoint supreme court justices to rewrite the constitution, although they usually just ignore the constitution altogether.

No, we don't shun Sarah Palin. She's great. She makes us feel good.

And I like sick old men. I'm in the ward with 19 others even now. We're sitting around telling war stories. In fact, one of them just loaned me his oxygen tank cause mine ran out.
