NASA Study Indicates Antarctica is Gaining More Ice Than It's Losing - (1 Viewer)

One last thing - at the end of the YouTube, Dr Richard Lindzen explained how sorry he felt for the many weather men who'd been cancelled by the TV companies. These weather men were instructed to WRONGLY associate exceptional weather events with global warming!!! If they refused, they were Cancelled!!! I presume this is a USA thing, would welcome any feedback on it ....

Wow!! I did not know this - but I believe it's entirely possible. Go along or be silenced, that's the new thing.
I highly doubt it's just USA though, climate ideology has taken even a much stronger hold in many other countries than it has in the USA, we are just catching up.

I'll be darned, here all this time I just thought a decade or so ago everyone switched to the pretty weather girls so as to keep one from changing the channel! And I must say, some of the most beautiful news women I see are on the weather segment. My wife allows me humorous celebrity crushes, and I've told her how I feel about April Warnecke ... all in good humor, of course.
Is THAT just the USA, or did TV all over the world switch to the cute weather women too ??? It was a major noticeable switch a decade or so ago.
Very rarely do you see a weather Man any more, but you will not soon forget the weather person!

Very rarely do you see a weather Man any more

You reminded me of Michael Fish who was warned about a hurricane and dismissed it. He later regretted it, as that night, thousands of trees were blown over all over the UK!

Why exactly I don't know.
Everybody needs a job unless they are wealthy. If you don't speak English or speak it poorly, your chances in the job market are slim to none. I'm guessing that these women are poor girls off the farm with no marketable skills and so they come to the US on a tourist visa and overstay. "We" do not want to know how many illegals we have in the country so we fail to count accurately. We had a chance to clean it up with the Census in 2020 but failed to take advantage. I also don't think the women are Chinese. They are more likely to be Thai or Vietnamese. Koreans and Japanese are too rich. The Chinese are probably the middle of the two groups. Apparently, there is quite the cottage industry in California for Tourist births. Pregnant women from Asia come to the US just before they start to show and live in group homes. Then they have their babies in US hospitals automatically granting them citizenship. The mother and child go home before the mother's visa expires but have an anchor here if they later want permanent status.

Go along or be silenced, that's the new thing.
Haven't you noticed this on Fox? Tucker and Hannity are mum on the subject but the day time hosts are openly anti-Trump.

Why would Chinese girls of that generation ever have to resort to being a sex worker when they could have their pick of the over-supply of young men who can't find wives?
They earn good money in the sex industry, especially in the high end bracket in London. Plus, as I have stated before on some other thread, they send money back to their families in China.

Maybe you should hire one and ask her what country she is from:)

When did you stop beating your wife?
Could you indicate where I have given the impression of wife beating? My wife has multiple sclerosis, is almost bed bound, and lives in a care home. I visit every day, but wife beating would be difficult.
Col

When you ask a question that doesn't include an accusation, then I will engage. Until then, we can discuss why you personally know so many sex workers. Do you prefer hiring Asian women?

Just out of interest, what country was the one you hired in Q8 to bring up your daughter for you?
Col

I can't resist stepping in.
Col, was this meant to be a joke (or insult) with some unwritten implications?
If so, please explain, as it certainly went over my head (just humor me, I'm dumb when it comes to jokes).

If not, I think Pat may have thought it was.

I must have got it wrong. I thought you said elsewhere that you hired a nanny who was also a sex worker whilst you lived in Kuwait. I was merely interested in their nationality.
In answer to your question. I worked in a hospital and part of my job was running the STD (sexually transmitted disease) clinic and got to know many patients (male and female) as they had to be registered and then attended for several appointments, so I knew them over the treatment period.
Why did you refer to wife beating when you know it is total fabrication on your part?
Col

It wasn't a joke and I was not amused, it was an insult and given his track record, it was intentional. This time Colin managed to get two accusations into one "innocuous" question.
1 He accused me of hiring someone else to raise my daughter.
2. He accused me of intentionally hiring a sex worker to raise my daughter.

And also showed his ignorance of the difference between voluntarily providing sex for money with being "owned" as a slave and providing sex for food.

1) surely a nanny is hired to assist raise a child whilst the parents are busy with other things, if not, why hire a nanny?
2) The nanny you hired was also a sex worker- or was that total fabrication like your wife beating comment. If a nanny was paid a living wage, maybe they wouldn't need a secondary job.

If you want to ask a question without including accusations, I would be happy to respond. Otherwise. Pound Sand.

How else can I ask 'what nationality was your nanny in Q8'?
And
What is 'pound sand'? Never heard of it. I'm guessing it's a weird Americanism insult.
I think you are being too sensitive. You need to lighten up a bit, you read things that aren't there, then you make up total lies about another member beating his wife. Strange.

I fully sympathize with the way you felt when you first read it - I also thought it was some REALLY weird insult, since I've never seen anyone type "Q8" instead of Kuwait (must be a weird British thing!), but I think he just had a good memory of this and was referring to it.

Ok I'm out, it's none of my business 🤝

Isaac, I didn't realise I had been edited. Strange really as I don't use abusive language, maybe a British comment is interpreted as abusive in America.
Secondly, Q8 was a petrol company (like Esso or Shell) in the UK. The crude oil came from Kuwait so they used Q8 as their logo. I was just being lazy typing.
