The Slightly Obscure Music Discussion And Quizzy Thread

Yes, I see the connection between that and Mona Lisa now. They are both songs...

Not sure why I didn't suggest it when I first Googled it.
Possibly because when I mentioned Fibonacci originally it didn't get a response.

Also not sure why Mona Lisa was a good guess earlier 😏

Anyway I'll try and come up with something moderately obscure later/tomorrow

OK one for the horticulturalists amongst you.

Further clues to follow if needed. Enjoy!?!

Nine Inch Nails & Tool both talented bands. You could probably throw Depeche Mode in that group as well.

The Mona Lisa was also created using the Fibonacci sequence / Golden ratio principles so... kinda the same ilk..?
Yes I said that in post #159. I also mentioned Fibonacci in #161 but your replies didn't indicate I was on the right track so I put this to one side

That's a great guess! I was trying to find Morning glory songs but did not find that one.

Close!
You got the correct flower AKA Ipomoea.
However I'm not referring to Oasis album What's the Story...Morning Glory

To make it easy...
American singer whose output varied from folk to free form jazz to sex funk! Died young.
Famous son. Also died young.
Both had amazing voices with a range of several octaves

Wow. I've never heard of him or whoever his son might be?

As always, it seems obvious when you're the one posting. Guess the artist (who was not the writer) and the song title.

Cold Beer Conversation by George Strait, or Cold Beer by Jesse Stewart

AB got it. I made it too dang easy!

FWIW, SRV was right up there with Jimi Hendrix although they had different styles. If you liked much of what JH did and haven't heard SRV's rendition of Voodoo Chile or Little Wing, you're missing something.
