If it really has anything to do with roads I'd have gone for The Long and Winding Road.

But actually I think it might be something by the post punk band A Certain Ratio such as their compilation Looking for A Certain Ratio

Got absolutely no clue, but I know that Trent Reznor did the music for the video game Quake (I), complete with all of the mystic sounds. Kind of spooky.

Sorry this took so long - being on different time zones didn't help and also how I thought this would go turned into a death spiral of its own lol

Anyway - incredible song that uses the Fibonacci sequence for the syllables in the verses, drum patterns and other track timings. Musically amazing.
