This will oust the corruption of transgender

We have an Emperor's New Clothes situation. Everyone is afraid to say what they really think because they are afraid they will be called names or even fired from their jobs. This is the part that is reallllly hard to get past. People aren't willing to risk their jobs and the well being of their family for the sake of taking a moral stand. This is what would stand in the way of an actual civil war. In the 18th century, very few people worked for "the man". Most worked for themselves so they were very much harder to cancel. My husband and I always had a lot of professional freedom since we were both in IT and we each made more than enough money to easily support a family of four in a middle class style. Many of our friends bought McMansions and leased new cars every year and went on fancy vacations whereas we lived very comfortably but basically stuck to what one income would support. We kept our cars for at least 5 years, longer if we really liked them. We took nice vacations but we rarely flew first class, we didn't eat out at expensive restaurants 5 nights a week, etc.

How many programmers does it take to change a lightbulb?

I looked some of these light bulb questions up while I was composing my earlier reply, so I know the answer! They won't change it because It's a hardware problem!

To keep this thread on topic, I wondered: how many trans people would it take to change a light bulb?

"Hannah, the bulb's gone. Would you mind changing it for me, please?"

"No, sorry, that's a job for a man."

"Oh, but I thought you were a man?"

"Look, I've told you before, I am a woman! I identify as a woman, so be polite and refer to me as a woman."

"But you are a lot taller than me. You'd be able to reach the light fitting easily. I'd have to stand on a chair."

"Look, I told you, that's a job for a man, not me. I'm not a man, I'm a woman. If you keep on implying that I'm a man, I'm going to punch your bloody head in!"

Matt Walsh makes a good point about that situation.

Think about your own life, I'll bet you've never gone around and demanded even to one single person one single time that they affirm you are a man .
Because you know you are and do not need anyone to affirm it. They want someone to affirm it because deep down they know it is not true.

But we shouldn't be forced by law to say something that is not true or that we believe is not true.

That's the size of it! Putting it that way, you are so right!

That helps me a lot, because there is one transitioned person whom I see as a woman, and accept as a woman. That has been a dilemma for me.....

You are right, and I never will - but not for the reasons you might guess. That particular question, as typically discussed in non-formal gatherings, usually carries baggage that depends on what qualities you believe a man possesses. And strangely enough, a single mother has many of those same qualities. Such as "protective of family" and "works hard to support family" and "loves family" ... I could go on, but I think I've made the point. Men don't go around asking that question because if it is intended in a literal sense, all they have to do is unzip and hang. But that question is almost always figurative. And it is in that sense that I will not ask it. Because I don't need to prove anything to anyone. My wife, step-children, and grandchildren know me and love me for what I am. Anyone else having a problem with that will have to just live with the problem.

One thing that my family DOES know is that I am not gay-hating. I don't judge books by their cover and I don't judge folks by someone else's choice of pigeon-hole for them.

neither am I. conversation the other day:

me: it's a waste of time to hate anyone.
my brother: AMEN (as he was heading to the pride festival here in Iowa City).
I agree. They should be treated exactly like anyone else.

A year 8 pupil who questioned classmate ‘identifying as a cat’ was called ‘despicable’ by teacher. Some parents complained after recording emerges of teacher calling students homophobic and suggesting they ‘go to a different school’ . Apparently one pupil aged 12/13 identified as a cat and a classmate ridiculed her and told the teacher that her her parents will agree with her. Their teacher then apparently turned into a bit of a screaming fishwife. So no discussion allowed in her classes then. If the cat-girl had a body covered in fur and had pointy ears was not a fact that was made clear.

Is it now OK that only stupid people can be teachers in this day and age? Mind you saying that could be an insult to stupid people, so I'll withdraw it. Clearly the cat girl will have started this as a joke and this joke of a school felt she needed their support.

Presumably this is one of those teachers who claimed to be on so little pay that they had to use food banks. We've all seen the poor dears, struggling to park their new BMWs and Mercs in what was the school playground. This is todays England.

Yes, its's very disturbing that we're being forced to model lying to our children. They're trying to make it so that legally we will all be forced to say out loud something that everyone knows isn't true - like meeting a man and pretending it is a woman.
It's scary when the inmates start to run the asylum..

I'm not sure I understand the joke? Unless Dodgers is short for "Coffin Dodgers", then I get it!

Uncle G., the "Dodgers" is a USA baseball team and there was supposed to be a special "Pride Night" celebration that became controversial.

Wow, that's a very interesting way to say it!

Forget pride night, that's nothing.

The Dodgers as an oganization decided to have a night where they specifically honored a group called the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, which is a hate group whose primary activity is going around mocking Christianity.

For example, the group enjoys putting on shows where they pretend to do sex acts on a Crucifix, masturbate on Jesus, pretend to be Nuns (of perpetual 'indulgence' - I think you get the point).

Basically they are a hate group which literally incites hatred of religious people.

Ya know - the exact thing the gays told us for 30 years that WE were doing? Turns out it was aaaaallllll a bunch of BS....
Which of course we knew, and it's why we called it an 'agenda', not a 'civil rights' issue.

Agendas have goals and move things forward.

From your viewpoint, perhaps. You are on the inside looking out. This is the one REAL disagreement we have, Isaac. You can't see the forest for the trees on this topic. I will simply say I disagree with your characterization, but we have talked about it enough that you already know this, so it is not a new statement. (I'm trying to remain respectful in stating it as I have.)

One of the sad things, Doc, is that I actually DO know that the majority of gay people did not even want all of this to happen.

As is evidenced by quite a few of them, some even prominent, standing up and saying the exact same "this is nonsense and must stop now" things that I am saying! (And also one of the reasons why your position is starting to look more and more extreme - even many in the gay community don't agree with you).

But my point in this post right now is, I realize that many gays also didn't mean or intend where this was heading, and are similarly shocked at what is being forcibly pushed in schools and on very young people. They realize this makes them look bad and wish people knew they never intended it.
The smart ones are actively coming out against it so that the public knows that not all gay people (or maybe even most) wanted this.

However, that doens't change the existence of the agenda. It just means it is being pushed by fewer than all LGBT people - which is, admittedly, some comfort, and is not lost on me, despite what you may think.

Ultimately the backlash from the radical things taking place today may actually hurt a community most of whom didn't personally want those extreme things to happen. The leftwing stuff tends to contradict and eventually eat its own.

The hypocrisy is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

Unfortunately, I have to agree here. ("Unfortunate" because the situation benefits no one but is obviously part of someone's cause celebre.) My gay friends and gay step-daughter (whom I love as if she were my own) KNOW that you can't "groom" a person to become gay. It is either the way they are or it is not. Taking advantage of confusion is a way to milk money from a system because of course "something must be done" and WHEN have you ever heard that phrase from the government where money WASN'T involved?
