Trump wants free trade. He'll settle for tariffs that make us money. The pain for US consumers will be short lived.

Trump is doing everything he promised to do on the campaign trail and actually succeeding with lots of it. This is so unusual for a politician that some people simply can't get their heads around it. The normal modus operandi for politicians is to promise whatever will garner votes but then do what the donors want and f*** the voters. THIS is what we voted for and this is why Trump has a loyal voter base. He says what he means and he means what he says even though sometimes it comes out sounding a little stupid because he almost never just reads a tele-prompter as others do. It's not easy to talk for hours on end but somehow Trump manages. Yes, he gets repetitive and that gets boring and his speaking vocabulary is probably 8th grade which also makes him boring. You can't listen to the talking heads "interpreting" what Trump says. You have to listen to Trump himself even though that can occasionally be painful given that he isn't a good speaker. But the three big threads are --
1. even the trading field as much as possible. Use tariffs as a way to coerce our trading partners if necessary.
2. expel as quickly as possible as many criminal illegal aliens as possible and then go to work on the rest until they are all gone
3. reduce the cost of government and by extension the national debt. The DOGE team is working diligently on waste/fraud/abuse and all the department heads are working on head count reductions. Use a carrot to get people to voluntarily leave. RIF them if necessary. Go as far as eliminating entire departments wherever possible in an effort to keep the government footprint small.

Now we have 6000+ judges around the country who will each take a turn trying to be President since they don't like what Trump is doing. Well, I LIKE what Trump is doing. I LOVE what Musk started. I will be sorry to see him leave the team. Hopefully, the team lives on to continue the work they started.
