In this thread we can all put in perpetuity what we think will happen the the economy, to the county to the world. The Trump campaign convinced a lot of people that their lives were better under his direction.

What do you think?

What are your predictions about the new Administration? With the full power of the Congress and the Court at his disposal, what wonderful things will they achieve?

My prediction is... ALL Democrats and all left of center Republicans will do whatever they can to stymie any progress.

I expect that a lot of folks are going to become angry when their entitlements start disappearing and they have to actually do something productive to get by. I also expect that many entitlements that are responsible for a lot of the money bleeding from the Treasury are ensconced in Congressional legislation such that removing the entitlements will be more difficult that might have been hoped.

Trump will have less success than he wanted but more than a lot of other people wanted or expected. Details? Can't begin to tell you. But in general he has a reputation of at least trying to do what he said he would. His previous term was marred by the fact that he didn't have a strong position. Congress was more Democrat than Republican at the time. His position, though much stronger, still isn't perfect, because some of the things he will want to do require 60% of the House or Senate and he doesn't have that without help.

Democrats who invited millions of illegal immigrants to invade this country (in violation of US immigration laws) will now flip and sanctimoniously claim that deporting them is illegal. Democrats are making a mockery of the law.

That's pretty easy. Hard to wrong on that one. Funny when you're the oposition party how much more rational it seems. Don't be timid, put yourself out there, you can always make up excuses later. Better yet, the propaganda machine will make the for you.

The Biden administration is doing their damnedest to get WWIII lit before it leaves office. If they had wanted Ukraine to win the war against Russian aggression, they would have given them the tools to do it from the beginning. The war has been going on for over three years. Thousands have died and NOW, Biden says it's "OK" to fight to win???? Hopefully Trump can encourage the two parties to settle this before he takes office.

Trump is doing an excellent job of picking cabinet members. If only Congress will go along and confirm Trump's picks and then support his agenda with permanent laws which will be harder for future administrations to simply discard on "day 1". Keep in mind that last time, Trump had to take the dregs of the earth for way too many positions and since they were all RINO appointees, they obstructed as best they could. If his agenda should move forward more smoothly with supporters at the helm.

Dismantling entire departments is pretty difficult but hopefully, he can implement administrative policies that will curtail bloat and make department heads accountable for achieving their goals if they want to retain their cushy jobs and benefits. When you don't even bother to set goals or you continually lower the bar as the DOE does, it is time to be dismantled. Excellence in education needs to be the primary goal of whatever remains of the DOE, not catering to the demands of the teacher's union.

Just as is the case with Republicans when the Democrats win. Isn't that how politics works these days?

Some people forget that economics is designed around a substantial proportion of the workforce being unemployed to keep down competition for workers and hence wage inflation. Four percent unemployment is often referred to as "full employment" and central banks generally start dampening the economy by raising interest rates if it goes below that.

The unemployed are then vilified for something the economic system is designed to cause.

Who have been the crackpots encouraging the comedian in fatigues and his overdressed wife in Ukraine for the last three years?
By the time they start negotiations the country will have been destroyed, if it isn't already. We are all paying the bill in taxes and I doubt we'll ever see a penny paid back. The latter day Che Guevara will probably end up sailing around the Med on his yacht after it is over.
