Trump Administration Predictions (1 Viewer)

A few questions to ponder.

  1. For those at "the top" who climbed there from "the bottom", are you saying the system wasn't rewarding them when they were halfway? If it wasn't, then what else would you call it if not a reward. If it was, then the system rewards people at all stages of the ladder, it doesn't wait until they're at the top
  2. If the system only rewards those at the very top, how could anyone get there?
  3. If the system rewards those at the top, then why have my own personal diligence in certain areas of life resulted in a higher income, more retirement financial security, and a better life? Why have I gotten jobs at companies who were expanding and growing?
The system rewards people at all stages. My wife went to school to get a technical degree, now she makes more money, now we are better off. I spent 15 years in the same line of work, now I make a lot more money than I did 10 years ago. Now we have >1 property. I'm climbing, and I don't see anything successfully holding me back. My brother went from penniless burger-flipper to CEO based on nothing but his own personal inputs, the system didn't put him there.

Now at certain times in my life, I had problems that rendered me poorer and sadder. I didn't blame the system, I blamed myself, and when I got my a** in gear to change those things, my life got much better very quickly

Just the mere wealth-building avenue of purchasing real estate, for one, is a way people climb up and it's available to everyone.
In spite of all of the creation. Musk accomplished with Space X and Tesla. His real wealth came from gains in the non taxable unrealized gains.
While people like you that have worked hard pay taxes on every thing they make. And even if you have climbed through th ceiling of SS withholsing people in that bracket pay the same as you.
The burden of taxes clearly aids the people in the highest brackets. I'm not blaiming, I'm stating a known fact. Earlier you spoke of fair. How does that work?

Even the old Bolshevik Bernie Sanders is a multi-millionaire, go figure. If your side wanted to rewrite the tax code they could, but they don't.

Burnie is an everyday millionaire. Conservative spins relies heavily on innumeracy.
Not my side, I'm neither, I just understand that the conservative dominated right is far more destructive.
We are all divided over issues that don't matter so the transfer of power to the capitalist heads can proceed unincombered.
The biggest threat to our freedom is the ultra right Citizens United. Like most of far right lies, this one is embraced across the board. When people
like Sanders stand up to it, they are labeled a commie.

Citizens United is an abomination and lies at the feet of the 2010 Roberts court which was pretty un-conservative as I recall.
Missing the power block again, or rather, ignoring.
The Koch Brothers were behind this.

The Koch Brothers were behind this.
And you think the Koch brothers are on the Supreme Court? Who do you think they bribed? Then we get to who do you think benefited? Kamala got a BILLION dollars of this money to blow through in just over 100 days. Man, what I could have done with that money. Used to be you were rich if you had a million dollars. Not any more. But a BILLION! That's F*** Y** money.

Every once in a while the left gets it "right";) The Constitution wasn't intended to protect the rights of corporations.

I've designed an industrial robot platform for positioning robotic arms and other industrial equipment in factories. Now it's time to start sourcing components for it. The vast majority are only available offshore.

One of the most important developments needed for this deglobalization/high tariffs world that they say we need, is automation.

How are we going to make that happen, if after all the tariffs, we can no longer build anything competitively?

And how about his LOSSES when the stock price falls?? Do you always count your chickens before they hatch:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Easy. Build it in China and SELL it in China. Oops. Slaves can't afford robots? Too bad for you. Maybe you want American workers to be able to afford to buy your product. That was how Henry Ford (piece of crap that he was) started the middle class.

Yep. Got there "clean" by insider trading. Ever ask yourself how is it that everyone who ends up with more than two terms as a Senator ends up as a multi-millionaire? This is a non-denominational problem. Republicans are just as guilty. Look at McConnell. Watching him is like watching Weekend at Bernie's. But he's not giving up his seat until they make him. Doesn't matter that he freezes whenever he tries to speak.

I just understand that the conservative dominated right is far more destructive.
What is destructive is crony capitalism which is practiced by progressives and RINOs alike. Look at all the tax dollars the Biden/Harris people are rushing to throw into the garbage can before the Trump people assume their positions. THAT is destructive.

Trump is going to do his best to stop the practice of the government picking winners and losers.

Isn't Trump putting tariffs on items in retaliation? Like steel for example. Every time I hear him speak about tariffs it's because the other side is taking an unfair advantage.

Thales doesn't understand that part of the sentence. It's like the left "interpreting" what Trump says. If it doesn't go with their narrative, they don't "hear" that part. I can tell that because he keeps asking me to explain Trump's tariff position to him. I do and then he asks again like he doesn't believe me. It's like talking to a 2-year old who keeps asking the same question over and over and over again hoping to get a different answer.

It's the rules of unintended consequences. I'm not against tariffs, in principle. What I'm against is the stupidity of much of the application.

Steel is a perfect example. Steel is a supply chain product. Which means increased cost ripples up through the system making. It's worse than just that, markups are based on percentages. So increases at the bottom multiply as they go up through the chain.

What happens is that companies that make things with this steel, which are usually high value added and create, and maintain, living wage jobs, become uncompetitive in the global market. Then our trade partners increase tariffs on finished goods and we suffer double.

Bringing up steel was the perfect example, you can look up the financial impact of these tariffs very easily. And you can even avoid learning them from biased source if you like.

Were you actually a database developer?

Lies, all Lies.
You may not be making up these lies, in fact you're not. However this is still more proof of the just how far down the brainwashed trail you are.

This one is easy to follow.

One of the obviously far right whack jobs at Forbes wrote this. Forbes is not usually wacko Right Wingers but this is an exception.
He uses innumeracy to make people like you that suffer from innumeracy, wave a banner.

Forbes

On insider trading? A guy worth a couple of million owns some mutual funds, wow the world is ending.

Benzinga

I perused more articals, they all say the same, he made most of his money writing books, and not really very wealthy after all

Innumeracy Pat, maybe try to learn why orders of magnitude are called orders of magnitude.

He's smarter than you give him credit for. He's using tariffs as a bully pulpit to bring nations to the table and the threat is already having an effect. It's about fair trade.

Getting cheap Chinesesizum crap that's broken before it arrives might be ideal for your robotics project, but I for one am tired of it.

You are not taking in the big picture. We should be tariffing finished goods, not raw materials or products close to the bottom of the supply chains.
That directly hurts American companies and American workers.

I'm not saying he is stupid, I'm saying that you can believe that he is as smart as you like.

The point is, he has already put a tariff on steel. That act was stupid.

By the way, Chinesium is manufactured by American companies, the same ones who pay for all the propaganda. The jokes on us, but hey unfettered capitalism is a wonderful thing.
