Virtual Reality Headsets - worth the money?

Will take a look at DEO VR.

There is supposed to be some zombie mixed reality game where they break through the walls of your living environment and try to bite you. Looks pretty scary! Tried that one?

This Stream thing...have you tried that with the Quest 3? I don't know enough about it but gather you can play either 2D games or VR games that would normally run through Stream. Is that it? I think the PC spec requirements are quite high though. I am using a 12 year old iMac! It is an i7, but still probably very slow by todays standards. Some GTX graphics card or whatever.

For Uncle, make sure you have a sick bucket next to you if you use the games where you fly through the air, or do much movement. Just warning you!

I wonder if it's the walking dead one.

I just played nine to warm up for my 5pm tee time with my buds and saw a coming soon for a new course. Riviera Country Club in Ca.

Been in Maui for the last week

Haven't tried sideloading yet as you really need a gamer machine.

Just checked. It's called: The Cabin Home Invasion. It's damn clever. Wish I had the space to play it.

Must be a nice way to escape all the stressy politics stuff. Total immersion in a nice green environment, stimulating your dopamine receptors being in a quasi-realistic outdoors setting.

Just bought it. Lot of apps on sale.

I'll give you a review later.

In the game or really there?

Go out into the garden?

I will admit, many years ago, I had to drive from Newcastle Upon Tyne to my home town.
By the time I got home, I could be stressed, depending on the dickheads on the journey.
When I got to the pub for the night out with friends. TERMINATOR 2 was the pub game.
I actually enjoyed that game in the pub, relieving what stress I had at the time.

That would be as far as I called myself a gamer.

You buggers seem to be bound and determined to cost me money! :p

The Quest 3 costs twice the Quest 2 here (US$500 vs 250). For a VR virgin, is it worth the extra? I don't necessarily want to spend the extra money if only an experienced person would notice the difference. I also don't want to "cheap out" and regret getting the 2 later.

Y.O.L.O.

That happens when you're talking VR porn. :ROFLMAO:

LOL! Jon got me interested with exercise and you with golf. Cold around these parts recently, hard to get out and play.

16 degrees this morning. Pellet stoves on high.
Just played St. Andrews and it was a lovely day.

I personally would go with the Q3, I'm sure Jon agrees.
The mixed reality is too cool to not have. (Q2 Doesn't have it)
I can only tell the difference since I own all 3 of them. The first one I had, the GearVR, died.
You might as well start at the top. There is a big difference IMO.

Thanks moke, I appreciate your thoughts. I'll probably see if they go on sale after Christmas.

Get the Keeper chrome extension for amazon. Then it will show you if they changed the quest 2 price after Christmas. Gives you a heads up on their pricing strategy. It shows a graph of price against time.

They may do the Q2 discounted, or you could buy used. Q3 won't change till the Q4.
But if you get the bug you're gonna upgrade anyway. Might wind up costing more.
Upside you could sell a used Q3 quicker if you don't like it..

Q2 doesn't have mixed reality.

Ipad upgrades are incremental. VR headset upgrades are a little larger because it is not a mature market. I went with a 2021 iPad this year and a bang up to date VR headset, namely the Quest 3.
