You live in the most violent society on the planet and as they say, violence breeds violence.

Actually that would be Brazil.

So what is the feeling about the 9/11 guy not getting the death penalty. Whilst I do not support the death penalty, putting someone to death because something they did not do seems completley wrong. No matter how terrible 9/11 was.

IMHO, these fanatics get so frenzied with their religious ideals that execution for them would be a kind of reward. The zenith of their 'faith' as it were. So a life-long spell in jail, with years and years of time for reflection may actually serve to put some proportionality back into his life and deflate his sanctimonious arrogance. On the other hand he may just be a psychotic and die years from now in the same frame of mind as he is in now.

I was suprised I thought that there was no way he would not get the death penalty...

Then why advocate it?

You’re wanting it both ways.

On the one hand you say they deserve to die, and on the other you say its worse to spend the rest of your life in prison.

Which is it?

Since everyone was saying how wrong it was, I was trying to add a bit of humanity to the discussion. Trying to convince them it was humane to execute them. Either way, the end result is the same. DEAD!!!!

Edited: Let me rephrase that, in a 'State of Dead', ready for God to make judgement.

Babies don't become people until they are born
Strange choice of words there Richard, by definition babies are people. What you menat was fetuses, I suspect a Freudian slip.

Not exactly sure you know where you stand on that one?

During the Great Depression

Many local small towns developed their own currency to insulate themselves from the national economy . Unfortunately there was a lot of counterfeiting and generally no method to ensure the notes were honored.

Hence the term.

Christ Josephine, you're so annoyingly picky:rolleyes:

Rich is saying, Babies (the tiny things you hold in arms after they're born) are not people till they're born. Had Rich wished to refer to the pre-birth status he would have said so

Same as a car is not a vehicle until it comes out the factory.

Try to read the posts correctly before trying to be smart
