So what is the feeling about the 9/11 guy not getting the death penalty. Whilst I do not support the death penalty, putting someone to death because something they did not do seems completley wrong. No matter how terrible 9/11 was.

IMHO, these fanatics get so frenzied with their religious ideals that execution for them would be a kind of reward. The zenith of their 'faith' as it were. So a life-long spell in jail, with years and years of time for reflection may actually serve to put some proportionality back into his life and deflate his sanctimonious arrogance. On the other hand he may just be a psychotic and die years from now in the same frame of mind as he is in now.

You’re wanting it both ways.

On the one hand you say they deserve to die, and on the other you say its worse to spend the rest of your life in prison.

Which is it?

Since everyone was saying how wrong it was, I was trying to add a bit of humanity to the discussion. Trying to convince them it was humane to execute them. Either way, the end result is the same. DEAD!!!!
