OBAMA WINS (at last)

I think it may have been interpretated as a case of the 'You'd all be speaking German' attitude which wasn't intended.

I was just suggesting that the change of political climate in the US towards terrorism because of 9/11 could have had an unspoken impact on IRA activities. As the suggestion was of a positive impact as opposed to a negative one, I'm not surprised it was rejected out of hand by some.

Only by those who wanted to.

Which is how I read it even if it took me a lot more words to say.:D

Good country boy phrase that gets the point across. You and your arrogance can rate it however you want.

Thanks for the compliment - I rate your phrase 1 out of 10 - it's just so common.

I had a boss years ago who called me into her office one day. I was a supervisor at the time. She had a right go and said I had a 'belligerent and arrogant attitude' - I was well pleased.

I propogated it even more and that stood me in good stead to go on to senior management in the NHS and manage a department of 145 people.

Interesting...the Col School of Management Training.
Sign me up for Belligerence 101 :D

Sorry - it has to come naturally, you can't learn it.

Americans may get there, they have a natural arrogance and expectation that they rule the planet.

As opposed to the English who think they ought to!

I see that old Obama is now doing a world celebratory tour - no doubt trying to get the rest of the world to like America.

I heard that some white senator gave him his car keys and said "park my car boy, and don't scratch the paint" - maybe not be true but a good joke none the less.:)

When (or if) Obama gets in the white house they can have a good old sing song of those ****** railway building songs - "The Camptown Ladies", or "Dem Bones Dem Bones".

Both those jokes were on TV - just repeating them that's all.

Question: by repeating these "jokes", aren't you approving of their racist nature and using a "once removed" excuse to avoid being called a racist yourself?
Not accusing, just asking.

No. I thought they were funny.

I didn't see a problem with them. If people are offended, then they need to get out more and get a grip on real life.

So if someone (like me) is offended, they require more trips to the pub, or they need to acquire somthing that qualifies as a real life.

Perhaps you could expand on what such a life would consist of.

Yes he is! This site is just full of people who are either racist or just pure evil. I for one am going to look for another site where decent people can have decent converstaions without offending other people.

Typical American response:rolleyes: - but, what you ask would take some time obviously. You could start by loosening up a bit and try to realise that outside the picket fence border of the USA there are far worse things happening in the real world.

Note - There is an "e" in "something". Also note I didn't call you an American.
