The Slightly Obscure Music Discussion And Quizzy Thread

Dang! Too easy. Looks to me like Darrell was first.
I wanted to use Life's a Long Song by JT because I think it's a great song.
"Life's a long song...but the tune ends too soon for us all"

I'm guessing you didn't use that song as it was difficult to find suitable visual clues.
That's stopped me with many examples I wanted to use ...

I'd never really heard much of Jethro Tull until they beat Metallica for the first ever 'Metal' Grammy in the late 80's. Although great musicians and well crafted songs, I could never work out how they were in this category to begin with.

Right.. should be pretty straight forward. Song and Artist please.

Exactly
What in the name of all that is Holy was the song that beat out Metallica for metal? It had to be based on a song, yes?
JT is one of my favourites, but no way are they or were the ever even close to metal.

Ah well. I came up with the Comet Vomit Song written by Doug Montgomery.
It was apparently a parody of the Colonel Bogey March from the Bridge on the River Kwai

OK too easy dammit. Hmm it seems that I need to find some middle ground between 'wtf is that and what does it have to do with a song' and 'well duh!'

Back to Micron...

Clues are: band name > album name (middle 2 pics) > song title. I think I will have to help a bit with this one...
I have the album if that helps :D
edit - band from the 70's, maybe not super popular but had several albums. While researching I was surprised to see a vid of them playing a concert circa 2004. Old guys with long hair look kinda funny, no?

Uriah Heep -Demons & Wizards - Easy Living

P.S. I've never heard of it but you made it very easy to work out

Just listened to it - great song!! I'll give someone else a go though

Wow. I thought the image of Uriah Heep would throw everyone off - or did you figure that out without knowing that was a sketch of a Dickens character?
Just listened to it - great song!!
Try the whole album. I think I like Paradise - The Spell even better than EL.
I guess Colin is up again.

I am learning a lot about Dickens characters from this music thread that's for sure!
The video on you-tube was hilarious, they were totally whacked out their gourds :ROFLMAO:

I will; that's one of the added bonuses of a thread like this is getting to hear different music and seeing if you can see why others like it
