@ColinEssex I think I can recognize a joke when I see one, even one pointed at me. I may not find it funny, but I recognize the attempt at humor. You have only one kind of "joke" that you are capable of creating and that one is always mean spirited and intentionally demeaning. Pick on someone else with your bad "jokes". I seem to be not alone in finding you unfunny. You might want to watch that Star Trek episode where Joe Piscopo is a holodeck character who is trying to teach Data about humor.

Gosh, that's a memory. I haven't seen Star Trek since the 1960's with Captain Kirk overacting as usual. I'm not even sure we get it on TV here. I'm afraid your comment is lost on me.

OK by me... you can see the Wikipedia article's title, so it will be easy to find.

I find it more interesting that "nothing better to do" in this context means that educating yourself is less important than annoying people. I am almost afraid to contemplate that fact.

The Captain changes with each new series. Occasionally, you will have cameo appearances from old characters in a new series but the characters are always different and so is the setting. Many have had long runs of 6 or more years and a couple of follow on movies.

I really must drag myself into the 1970's. Although, I do have a remote control for the TV, no idea what all the buttons do though. I never press some of them. And, I have a push button phone at home and not one with a dial. So I'm quite with it really.
