Trump vs Zelensky

And don't get me wrong, I do feel a lot of sympathy for the ukrainians that they happen to be in a tiny country that the Russians believe is theirs etc etc and who knows someday it may get so bad that they'll just be totally absorbed by Russia. But the question to ask is what else can be done about it, and with each one of those options, what are the risks? Some of them are pretty huge

They are showing strength in a situation which needs strong people.
Strength and confidence do not raise voices and wag fingers. What raises voices and wags fingers is weakness and vulnerability. Think of the people you know who, when there's a huge pile of chips in the centre of the table, lose their shit like Trump and Vance lost their shit. If a foreign head of state receives treatment like that on the home turf of the United States of America, think now of what an invitation to the oval office means to any other foreign head of state. This is what damage looks like, diplomatic damage on an enormous scale.

So I revise your statement as follows: They showed stunning weakness in a situation that needs strong people.

You gotta' know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em and know when to walk away. Zelensky is an idiot for not taking the deal. The next one will be better for us. Trump usually leads with a good deal if he wants you to take it and he really wanted Zelensky to take the deal and stop the dying.

And what would you have done after you were lead to believe a deal was going to be signed? Hindsight is 20/20, so whatever you say doesn't mean much until you get thrown into a fiery situation like that.

You may perceive weakness, but weakness is getting your ass kicked in a never ending war IMHO.

Hopefully the EU will back Zelensky 100% militarily and financially, and they'll keep fighting or broker their own deal.

The only reason we got involved is because Ukraine had dirt on Hunter and the big guy.

Zelensky a hug and kiss where what he needs is a little spanking

I don't know much about him but I have read that he has blocked political opponents in various ways! He sounds a bit like another Putin...

Personally I would rather have Russia take over the EU and UK than the Muslims...

The Russians are after all European in nature ...

Nations used to reference this.
NATO’s position on Ukraine’s membership has often emphasized that continued anti-corruption efforts are essential for any potential accession, as it’s critical for ensuring that the country meets the alliance's democratic and institutional standards.

I agree 100% with this guy's take on the situation. If you don't have time to watch the whole thing, at least watch the last minute starting at 16:00 mark. The whole video is on point IMO.

And what would you have done after you were lead to believe a deal was going to be signed?
If I was president of the United States of America, and cameras were rolling, I would first of all demonstrate that there is a cool and steady hand at the rudder. Job #1. No other messaging comes close in value to that one, regardless of the situation, regardless of the deal currently on the table.

You may perceive weakness, but weakness is getting your ass kicked in a never ending war IMHO.
Is your argument here that the president did not look weak because someone else, IYHO, looks weaker? Pretty low standard that the president's conduct looks strong, as long as one person in the room looks weaker.

This, because of a failure of what used to be American leadership of what used to be known as the 'Free World.'

"Your gambling with World War III" said the man who's gambling with World War III and bankrupted a Casino.
Okay I'll bite I'm just curious in a raw way. What in the world is a casino and bankruptcy have to do with this situation?

I've noticed just in general life that people seem to think that the term bankruptcy is overly much a negative zinger for whatever is being discussed. Bankruptcy protection is the smartest thing you can do for many businesses. And oftentimes is the only thing that allows them to become successful again it is just a tool like every other tool

You're saying you would rather that the United States do all the support? That that would have been more ideal?

Obama and Biden were weak, and it led to Russian aggression in Crimea and the current debacle.
That's very true and needs to be repeated.

So Trump got a little mad at someone. I think it's going to knock zielinski into common sense and a much more willingness to stop fighting and actually try negotiating for peace.

He can't win this war. Is it ever the right time to admit that, will it never ever be?

He's clueless about running a business. Trump has over 500 businesses. Some make it, some don't. A gambling casino is a risky business. In Illinois, the beautiful Arlington Racecourse didn't make it. The Taj Mahal cost close to a billion dollars.
