We Should Have Contest of Who is the Most Outraged by Trump's Win

Then we get into the complex world of rights and find that this is a case that should not be left to individual states because it means that geography defines your options on something that should be uniform across the country.
This is an interesting question to me, whether that statement is true or not. I'm going to have to do a little thinking and pondering on it. It does make me think of other options in areas of the law, such as I'll bet if we looked into it we would find that parental spankings are more outlawed in some states than they are in others. And there are probably other topics like this as well.

Pat, we actually agree on everything, perhaps except "when it matters."
So, you don't believe that there is an actual second life in question at any time prior to delivery?

If you don't believe life exists prior to birth then you have a clear position and so I'm not sure what you are arguing. That is an opinion and is the one shared by my Jewish friends. To me, the question is When not If. The answer then becomes - when science says the life can survive outside of the womb. That answer changes as science improves. My position isn't arbitrary. It isn't based on religion or even personal feelings. It is based on empirical evidence. What is the chance of the fetus surviving when it is born before full term? The chance increases with each day the fetus stays in the womb but at some point we end up on the "almost always" side of the line. The problem for the left is that that line keeps moving earlier in gestation.

By not making your own decision and trying to sound fair and argue all points, you are giving up and leaving others to decide for you so your opinion counts for nothing.

The fight over abortion is purely between the religious and the nihilists. People in the middle are the ones trying to determine a rational when rather than if.
