You have to read the Qur'an in full to get the detailed information you need.

This because I challenged a quote from the Qua'an and his explanation which added words that were not in the quote, thus we must assume that all of his quotes are selective and thus worthless.

Asked by AccessBlaster to give medical advantages of infant circumcision Aziz suggested he googled, the first hit returned this

Most healthcare professionals maintain that the potential benefits of circumcision are not strong enough to justify routine childhood circumcision.

And then

Potential complications of circumcision – these include excessive bleeding and post-operative infection, and outweigh any potential benefits.

How many reports must we read?

Of course sometimes it is necessary as it was for a nephew of mine.

Brian,
While I agree with most of what you have posted on this thread, and agree with nothing Aziz posted, I appreciate more you staying mostly with logic and not personality.
Dick

Thank you Dick, I appreciate that, I try to avoid personal attacks and insults and would apologise if I inadvertently slipped up.

I did not get that in my first hit. Hmmm, very strange. Instead I got a page which talked about the benefits of circumcision.

This because I challenged a quote from the Qua'an and his explanation which added words that were not in the quote, thus we must assume that all of his quotes are selective ...

The Qur'anic verses are selective to the discussion at the time. What else would you expect? I answered your question by quoting, yes by a selective verse, in my earlier post regarding your question, yet you do not mention my explanation at all in your response. Clearly you are not interested in a debate. If you choose either not to read it or to understand or be blind to the selective verse(s) that is not my concern.

Here's another selective Qur'anic verse:-

6.104 Proofs have come unto you from your Lord, so whoso seeth, it is for his own good, and whoso is blind is blind to his own hurt. And I am not a keeper over you.

61.005 And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Why persecute ye me, when ye well know that I am Allah's messenger unto you ? So when they went astray Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah guideth not the evil-living folk.

Aziz if you read post 3301 again you will find that I did mention your "explanation" , not in full of course as you immediately went off on the sidetrack at which point I challenged it.

Brian if you read post 3296 I had ready answered your challenge and in later posts.

It's like arguing with a brick wall, In 3301 i challenge his answer in 3296 and he says that he answered in ..3296, damn clever to answer before asked. What he doesn't get that it is his answer that I am challenging, of course in his closed mind brainwashed over the years no doubt he is so convinced of his own righteousness and our ignorance that he believes he can get away with anything.

I give up.

Sorry Dick I suspect the above let's you down.

Hey, everybody's got a limit, especially if they don't have Azeeees great wisdom.

Exactly! Most reports I read highlight risks and downplay the potential benefits to parental laziness in not wanting to keep their child clean.

Brian, I think you are staring at a brick wall and you can’t see through it not because of me but through your own ignorance of the subject matter. As I have said already you are not reading my posts carefully but challenging them when the answer had already been given in the earlier post that you challenged. How many times have we seen posters on AWF whose questions were answered in earlier posts in the thread but either had not read or understood them. The same is applying here.

The fact that you say I am brainwashed suggests to me that you are incapable of discussing the subject in any meaningful, coherent or intellectual manner hence the reason why you are giving up. You assume that since you don’t know what you are talking about, that I don’t as well.

I never claimed I was righteous, that is for God to decide. I simply quoted you what God says in His Last Testament and the meaning thereof to the best of my ability according to what Muslim scholars have said over the years. You choose not to like it that is your choice. We have been created with free will so we think and do as we wish. As God says: -

103.002 Lo! man is a state of loss,
103.003 Save those who believe and do good works, and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to endurance.

The Day of Resurrection and subsequent Day of Judgement will still take place despite your accusations of me being 'brainwashed'. It is more likely that your brain is in darkness.

109.001 Say (O Muhammad): O disbelievers!
109.002 I worship not that which ye worship;

Dick7Access, like Brian, I see you have nothing meaningful to say either.

This must be the most arrogant and insulting post I have ever read. It is not his fault however that he cannot explain the unexplainable , chapter 7 is a series of unconnected statements, there is no narrative to follow, which is why 7.178 is somewhat of a contradiction, maybe Iblis should have been mentioned as leading people astray not Allah, but then religious texts tend to be strange works of literature.

Aziz, Brian,

Each of you are entitled to your own opinions on this subject, and as long as neither of you try to force the other to see their point of view then a healthy debate ensues...

For my own opinion on this subject, which I have voiced before, is that I do not believe in the Son of God, aka Jesus Christ, I just believe that he was a highly educated man in and whoefully uneducated society, hence the God like status given to him...

Do I believe in God/Allah... I like the notion that something is watching over us keeping us safe, but my head tells me in reality that there is probably nothing of the like... The recent disaster in the Phillipines lends wait to my reality, if there was a God why would he punish a very religious people, and not for instance punish Drug Dealers in Columbia instead...

Do I believe in Heaven, or life after death, again, I would like to think we go somewhere, my father died when I was nine, and I hope one day to see him again, if only to ask for all my missed pocket money back dated... ;) I think the Human is such a sentient being so much more so that any other living thing on the planet, that it would be a shame if when we die that we simply become worm fodder and all our experiences and lifes soul enrichment is lost...

Just my opinion on the subject matter...

Brian, just because you don’t understand or want to ‘see’, does not mean there is a contradiction in 7:178. It’s very easy for you to pick out a verse without making any effort or any research, say it’s a contradiction even though I have given you some information which you don’t want to acknowledge but instead resort to a series of insults and sound bites to hide behind.

18.058 Thy Lord is the Forgiver, Full of Mercy. If He took them to task (now) for what they earn, He would hasten on the doom for them; but theirs is an appointed term from which they will find no escape.
19.076 Allah increaseth in right guidance those who walk aright, and the good deeds which endure are better in thy Lord's sight for reward, and better for resort.

As for the arrogance and insults, I’m giving as good as I get but in addition using God’s own words and throwing these back at you where possible to answer you. It works both ways. If you want a discussion devoid of insults, I’m happy to engage likewise. This goes for others who have used the same tactics as you. It’s very easy to hide behind such tactics and make the appearance that a debate is being made by you when it’s not. It’s a common trait of those who deny the truth. Dick7Access, many people mocked and ridiculed in the past. This is nothing new. God’s word manifests itself even today.

30.010 Then evil was the consequence to those who dealt in evil, because they denied the revelations of Allah and made a mock of them.
005.086 But those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, they are owners of hell-fire.
8.021 Be not as those who say, we hear, and they hear not.
8.022 Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah's sight are the deaf, the dumb, who have no sense.
8.023 Had Allah known of any good in them He would have made them hear, but had He made them hear they would have turned away, averse.
22.008 And among mankind is he who disputeth concerning Allah without knowledge or guidance or a scripture giving light,
22.009 Turning away in pride to beguile (men) from the way of Allah. For him in this world is ignominy, and on the Day of Resurrection We make him taste the doom of burning.
28.050 And if they answer thee not, then know that what they follow is their lusts. And who goeth farther astray than he who followeth his lust without guidance from Allah. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
28.051 And now verily We have caused the Word to reach them, that haply they may give heed.
45.011 This is guidance. And those who disbelieve the revelations of their Lord, for them there is a painful doom of wrath.

I’ll make it clear again so you don’t keep ‘hiding’ behind the brick wall and pretend it doesn’t make sense and continue with your vitriol which is what you normally come back with. There will be NO place to hide for anyone on the Day of Judgement where the sins and denials of truth will be exposed for all to see and witnesses will be brought forth.

Those who ACCEPT God, will be guided by Him.
Those who REJECT God, He will remove His guidance from them and hence they automatically will go astray.

I can’t make it any clearer than that. Here are some verses to corroborate in addition to a different verse I already gave in an earlier post and above.

16.037 Even if thou (O Muhammad) desirest their right guidance, still Allah assuredly will not guide him who misleadeth. Such have no helpers.
16.064 And We have revealed the Scripture unto thee only that thou mayst explain unto them that wherein they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.
7.193 And if ye call them to the Guidance, they follow you not. Whether ye call them or are silent is all one for you.
7.203 And when thou bringest not a verse for them they say: Why hast thou not chosen it? Say (O Muhammad): I follow only that which is inspired in me from my Lord. This (Qur'an) is insight from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people that believe.

God knows exactly how non-Believers behave and think. You cannot hide this as He is Our Creator and He knows best His creation. He has given us the Scripture in order to obtain guidance.

67.006 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end!
67.007 When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up,
67.008 As it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Came there unto you no warner?
67.009 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error.
67.010 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames.
67.011 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames.
067.012 Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward.
067.013 And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men).
067.014 Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtle, the Aware.

It is not your fault however that you cannot understand the explainable.

18.056 We send not the messengers save as bearers of good news and warners. Those who disbelieve contend with falsehood in order to refute the Truth thereby. And they take Our revelations and that wherewith they are threatened as a jest.
18.057 And who doth greater wrong than he who hath been reminded of the revelations of his Lord, yet turneth away from them and forgetteth what his hands send forward (to the Judgment)? Lo! On their hearts We have placed coverings so that they understand not, and in their ears a deafness. And though thou call them to the guidance, in that case they can never be led aright.

Aziz,

You clearly know your religion inside out given the passages you quote, and I commend you for that, you have obviously spent a lot of time in reflection on your religion and believe in it passionately.

You keep mentioning the Day of Judgement, when in your religion does it say that this will occur, and what shape will it take, what can mankind expect?

For my own opinion on this subject, which I have voiced before, is that I do not believe in the Son of God, aka Jesus Christ, I just believe that he was a highly educated man in and whoefully uneducated society, hence the God like status given to him...

Jesus (peace be upon him) never claimed he was the ‘Begotten’ Son of God, this was as you said something the people conferred on him. In fact the word Begotten was added in the Gospel of John in the KJV of the Bible but the word does not appear in the original surviving manuscripts. To see evidence of this you will see that the Revised Standard Version (RSV) of the Bible the word included the word ‘Begotten’ and then removed it after much debate by Christian scholars in the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV). The NRSV is based on the original surviving manuscripts. In addition, nowhere does Jesus (peace be upon him) say in the NT that he or his mother should be worshipped.

The NT itself was written by man and not a revelation from God unlike the Injil which did come from God and was given to Jesus (peace be upon him) which unfortunately has not survived as an original. However the Qur’an has survived in which God states that the Christians have gone astray.

5:116 And when Allah saith (On the Day of Judgement): O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah? he saith: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then Thou knewest it. Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy Mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower of Things Hidden?
5.117 I spake unto them only that which Thou commandedst me, (saying): Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. I was a witness of them while I dwelt among them, and when Thou tookest me Thou wast the Watcher over them. Thou art Witness over all things.
5.118 If Thou punish them, lo! they are Thy slaves, and if Thou forgive them (lo! they are Thy slaves). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, the Wise.

The expression ‘son’ of God was simply an expression which meant that these people were righteous and thus close to God. The closeness could also infer messengers of God.

5.073 They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the third of three; when there is no God save the One God. If they desist not from so saying a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve.
5.074 Will they not rather turn unto Allah and seek forgiveness of Him? For Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
5.075 The Messiah, son of Mary, was no other than a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) had passed away before him. And his mother was a saintly woman. And they both used to eat food (like other mortals). See how We make the revelations clear for them, and see how they are turned away!
5.076 Say: Serve ye in place of Allah that which possesseth for you neither hurt nor use? Allah it is Who is the Hearer, the Knower.
5.077 Say: O People of the Scripture! Stress not in your religion other than the truth, and follow not the vain desires of folk who erred of old and led many astray, and erred from a plain road.

Hence a metaphorical meaning of someone who was a righteous slave of God was deliberately changed by adding the word ‘Begotten’ to give a different impression as that of a biological son of God. Through ignorance, many if not most Christians are haply unaware of this. Even Christian priests are unaware of this. Some Christians who do become aware of this eventually turn to Islam where the true story of Jesus (peace be upon him) can be found.

You will see similar metaphorical examples of this in both the NT and the Qur’an. Jesus (peace be upon him) being referred to as the son of David. Mary (peace be upon her) referred to as the Sister of Aaron. In the former, the actual dual meaning is that Jesus (peace be upon him) comes the lineage of David (peace be upon him) but more importantly is on the same message of David (peace be upon him) i.e. to be obedient to the One true God. In the latter, Mary (peace be upon her) is directly related to Prophet Aaron (peace be upon him) and was on the same message as him i.e. to be obedient to the One true God.

Non Muslims will often say the following is a contradiction as Mary (peace be upon her) did not have a brother called Aaron. They fail to understand that the phrase is metaphorical in meaning in that the people were saying you come from such a noble line, why have you done such a thing.

19.027 Then she brought him (Jesus) to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing.
19.028 O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot.

If you look through this thread, there are many verses e.g. The Qur’an 21:30 where I show that compatibility between provable science and Qur’anic verses relating to God’s creation. BTW the word Allah simple means ‘the God’, where Al means ‘the’ and lah means ‘God’. Hebrew it’s Eloha and in Aramaic it’s Alaha. You can download my book ‘Islam – Pure and Simple’ at http://www.scribd.com/search?query=Islam-Pure-and-Simple to see in the first chapter how you can prove that the Qur’an could not be the work of man. Any questions please let me know.

As for the point you make regarding the disaster in the Philippines etc. you have to remember that God on the Day of Judgement will compensate those that have suffered in this life even if you are not a believer. In other words there will be an expiation of sins. On one occasion a companion of Muhammad (peace be upon him) said to Muhammad (peace be upon him) why is it that a non-Believer died without any suffering whilst a Muslim suffered before he died. How is this fair? Muhammad (peace be upon him) answered him by saying that the non-Believer will have each of his sins examined by God whilst the Muslim who suffered and died the suffering will be an expiation of his sins.

In terms of money, God has given man the responsibility to share their wealth that God has given them. This is why the poorest will enter Heaven before the richest as there judgement will take longer in terms of how the wealth was acquired and spent. Similarly any wrong we do to others, our good deeds will be transferred to them equivalent to the sin. Hence if an injustice is done by man towards his fellow man irrespective of their beliefs, they will be compensated. In short, justice will prevail in the Hereafter. Who knows you might get your pocket money. Some of your fathers’ good deeds will come to you.

It is important to understand, that only Muslims will enter heaven. Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that even if a person ends up in Hell fire but had an atoms weight of belief in God, he will ultimately end up in heaven after his punishment. So it’s important to die as a believer and have had belief in God in his\her life no matter how small. God is Oft Forgiving Most Merciful, but we have to turn to Him and repent. For those who have gone from this world, we are not privy to their innermost thoughts.

4.017 Forgiveness is only incumbent on Allah toward those who do evil in ignorance (and) then turn quickly (in repentance) to Allah. These are they toward whom Allah relenteth. Allah is ever Knower, Wise.
4.018 The forgiveness is not for those who do ill-deeds until, when death attendeth upon one of them (i.e. they see the angel of death), he saith: Lo! I repent now; nor yet for those who die while they are disbelievers. For such We have prepared a painful doom.
4.048 Lo! Allah forgiveth not that a partner should be ascribed unto Him. He forgiveth (all) save that to whom He will. Whoso ascribeth partners to Allah, he hath indeed invented a tremendous sin.

In the last verse, in reference to partner, does not simply just mean worshiping idols as they did during the time of the prophets and is still a practice even today, but that partners can be people e.g. Jesus (peace be upon him). In addition, the Muslim scholars tell us that these partners can be other things such as materialism, money, evolution, etc. Hence a true believer is one who has the full focus in God above all other things and he is obedient to God. Some Muslims have the mistaken belief that if they don’t worship idols they are OK and deliberately hide behind this in ignorance.

Thank you for your first comment. Brian and others think that I was brainwashed. Up until I was 20 the only knowledge that had been drummed into me was that Jesus (peace be upon him) was the ‘begotten’ son of God and that we would be saved if we believed in the trinity. As you can see this ‘brainwashing’ did not make me a Christian. As far as brainwashing is concerned, we are all to some extent brainwashed when we are young and have little or no choice in the matter. However this does not mean when we reach the age of puberty (at this age we are held accountable for our deeds) we cannot think for ourselves and be rational with what we are analysing. There are of course many issues in the name of Islam that is practised. However why blame Islam for those Muslims who in their ignorance commit unIslamic acts and in the name of Islam.

When this world comes to an end, we will all be resurrected. Two companions of Muhammad (peace be upon him) were arguing as to whether Muhammad (peace be upon him) would be resurrected before Moses (peace be upon him) or vice versa. Muhammad (peace be upon him) came up to them and asked what they were arguing about. When he heard, he smiled and said that Moses (peace be upon him) will extend his arm towards me to lift me up. Meaning that Moses (peace be upon him) will be resurrected before Muhammad (peace be upon him). After we are all resurrected (no matter whether were buried or cremated – 23:35), the Day of Judgement will take place.

99.001 When Earth is shaken with her (final) earthquake
99.002 And Earth yieldeth up her burdens,
99.003 And man saith: What aileth her?
99.004 That day she will relate her chronicles,
99.005 Because thy Lord inspireth her.
99.006 That day mankind will issue forth in scattered groups to be shown their deeds.
99.007 And whoso doeth good an atom's weight will see it then,
99.008 And whoso doeth ill an atom's weight will see it then.

2.211 Ask of the Children of Israel how many a clear revelation We gave them! He who altereth the grace of Allah after it hath come unto him (for him), lo! Allah is severe in punishment.
2.212 Beautified is the life of the world for those who disbelieve; they make a jest of the believers. But those who keep their duty to Allah will be above them on the Day of Resurrection. Allah giveth without stint to whom He will.
2.213 Mankind were one community, and Allah sent (unto them) prophets as bearers of good tidings and as warners, and revealed therewith the Scripture with the truth that it might judge between mankind concerning that wherein they differed. And only those unto whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it, after clear proofs had come unto them, through hatred one of another. And Allah by His Will guided those who believe unto the truth of that concerning which they differed. Allah guideth whom He will unto a straight path.

The good and bad deeds will be weighed, after compensation has taken place against those who we have aggrieved or who have aggrieved us. If the good deeds are heavier than the bad deeds, then we will be sent to heaven, otherwise it will be Hell-fire.

Those who did not have an atoms weight of belief in God and died in a state of unbelief will not go to heaven even if they committed good deeds. There good deeds will be rewarded here but they will not have any share in the hereafter in terms of going to Heaven. When the last Muslim enters heaven after having been punished in Hell-fire, the remaining people will spend an eternity in Hell-fire and the inhabitants of heaven will remain in heaven for eternity. Animals will also be judged compensation where required and then they will be turned to dust. Hence the inhabitants of Hell-fire will also cry out that they could become like dust and be no more.

078.040 Lo! We warn you of a doom at hand, a day whereon a man will look on that which his own hands have sent before, and the disbeliever will cry: "Would that I were dust!"

Finally, for the non-Believers, if you sincerely and I mean sincerely seek God, you will find Him. If you then accept Islam, all your previous major and minor sins are forgiven and providing you keep your faith, you will ultimately be successful in this and the next life to come.

I have met many reverts over the years with their own unique stories. The weirdest one was where a RAF commander began to read the Qur’an with the intention of finding a contradiction or some error. After reading the Qur’an 40 times he finally accepted Islam. A similar story was a woman who did the same thing and accepted after reading the Qur’an 8 times. There was another case where a man from Kosovo became extremely angry when he found out that his sister had become a Muslim. He told me that he was telling her that this was a bad religion, a religion based on terrorism. His sister calmed him down and after 2 years he himself accepted Islam. So there are many who have come out of the darkness and into the light.

I wouldn't want to see a world where women didn't have the same opportunities as men. Societies where women are downtrodden are invariably backwards and unpleasant.

Despite claims by muslim men that women are not treated as second class citizens under Islam threir maltreatment is abundantly clear to any objective observer.

Aziz shows us clearly where women stand in Islam.

It isn't just Islam though. The status afforded to women is a blight on all the Abrahamic faiths.

This is because this deplorable philosophy is dreamed up by ancient, ignorant misogynists who arrogantly believed their every thought was an inspired truth. Fundamentally their outlook is naked fascism where an oligarchy decrees every aspect of the lives of all right down to their private lives and assigns brutal punishment to those who fail to comply.

This is no better evident than in the Armageddon prophecy which is held dear by devotees of all branches of the Abrahamic faiths. Their cherished vision is a glorious future where their God murders most of the people on earth leaving only the "true believers". The eager anticipation of the "end days" is one of the reasons so many believers endeavour to initiate religious conflict on a global scale.

Abrahamism is obsessed with death. Hardly surprising from a faith whose founding event happened when a psychopath about to murder his son experienced a brief moment of sanity and decided that a god did not require him to do it.

Modern medicine tells us that these so called prophets are no more special than people who are experiencing an epileptic seizure of the temporal lobes of the brain. This is known to stimulate hyperreligious hallucinations.

Yet Jesus was born poor, had no stature, wealth, etc and yet he is the most well known person in the world then and today. Why is that

One other item, Darwinism is failing. There are a group of several hundred or thousand scientist that states that Darwinism could not happen.

And who wrote your Qur’an... I think it was written about what 2-3000 years ago. Then how did they know about 'Atoms' and their weight?????

99.007 And whoso doeth good an atom's weight will see it then,
99.008 And whoso doeth ill an atom's weight will see it then.

have a nice day :)
