If you look through this thread, there are many verses e.g. The Qur’an 21:30 where I show that compatibility between provable science and Qur’anic verses relating to God’s creation. BTW the word Allah simple means ‘the God’, where Al means ‘the’ and lah means ‘God’. Hebrew it’s Eloha and in Aramaic it’s Alaha. You can download my book ‘Islam – Pure and Simple’ at
http://www.scribd.com/search?query=Islam-Pure-and-Simple to see in the first chapter how you can prove that the Qur’an could not be the work of man. Any questions please let me know.
As for the point you make regarding the disaster in the Philippines etc. you have to remember that God on the Day of Judgement will compensate those that have suffered in this life even if you are not a believer. In other words there will be an expiation of sins. On one occasion a companion of Muhammad (peace be upon him) said to Muhammad (peace be upon him) why is it that a non-Believer died without any suffering whilst a Muslim suffered before he died. How is this fair? Muhammad (peace be upon him) answered him by saying that the non-Believer will have each of his sins examined by God whilst the Muslim who suffered and died the suffering will be an expiation of his sins.
In terms of money, God has given man the responsibility to share their wealth that God has given them. This is why the poorest will enter Heaven before the richest as there judgement will take longer in terms of how the wealth was acquired and spent. Similarly any wrong we do to others, our good deeds will be transferred to them equivalent to the sin. Hence if an injustice is done by man towards his fellow man irrespective of their beliefs, they will be compensated. In short, justice will prevail in the Hereafter. Who knows you might get your pocket money. Some of your fathers’ good deeds will come to you.
It is important to understand, that only Muslims will enter heaven. Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that even if a person ends up in Hell fire but had an atoms weight of belief in God, he will ultimately end up in heaven after his punishment. So it’s important to die as a believer and have had belief in God in his\her life no matter how small. God is Oft Forgiving Most Merciful, but we have to turn to Him and repent. For those who have gone from this world, we are not privy to their innermost thoughts.
4.017 Forgiveness is only incumbent on Allah toward those who do evil in ignorance (and) then turn quickly (in repentance) to Allah. These are they toward whom Allah relenteth. Allah is ever Knower, Wise.
4.018 The forgiveness is not for those who do ill-deeds until, when death attendeth upon one of them (i.e. they see the angel of death), he saith: Lo! I repent now; nor yet for those who die while they are disbelievers. For such We have prepared a painful doom.
4.048 Lo! Allah forgiveth not that a partner should be ascribed unto Him. He forgiveth (all) save that to whom He will. Whoso ascribeth partners to Allah, he hath indeed invented a tremendous sin.
In the last verse, in reference to partner, does not simply just mean worshiping idols as they did during the time of the prophets and is still a practice even today, but that partners can be people e.g. Jesus (peace be upon him). In addition, the Muslim scholars tell us that these partners can be other things such as materialism, money, evolution, etc. Hence a true believer is one who has the full focus in God above all other things and he is obedient to God. Some Muslims have the mistaken belief that if they don’t worship idols they are OK and deliberately hide behind this in ignorance.
Thank you for your first comment. Brian and others think that I was brainwashed. Up until I was 20 the only knowledge that had been drummed into me was that Jesus (peace be upon him) was the ‘begotten’ son of God and that we would be saved if we believed in the trinity. As you can see this ‘brainwashing’ did not make me a Christian. As far as brainwashing is concerned, we are all to some extent brainwashed when we are young and have little or no choice in the matter. However this does not mean when we reach the age of puberty (at this age we are held accountable for our deeds) we cannot think for ourselves and be rational with what we are analysing. There are of course many issues in the name of Islam that is practised. However why blame Islam for those Muslims who in their ignorance commit unIslamic acts and in the name of Islam.
When this world comes to an end, we will all be resurrected. Two companions of Muhammad (peace be upon him) were arguing as to whether Muhammad (peace be upon him) would be resurrected before Moses (peace be upon him) or vice versa. Muhammad (peace be upon him) came up to them and asked what they were arguing about. When he heard, he smiled and said that Moses (peace be upon him) will extend his arm towards me to lift me up. Meaning that Moses (peace be upon him) will be resurrected before Muhammad (peace be upon him). After we are all resurrected (no matter whether were buried or cremated – 23:35), the Day of Judgement will take place.
99.001 When Earth is shaken with her (final) earthquake
99.002 And Earth yieldeth up her burdens,
99.003 And man saith: What aileth her?
99.004 That day she will relate her chronicles,
99.005 Because thy Lord inspireth her.
99.006 That day mankind will issue forth in scattered groups to be shown their deeds.
99.007 And whoso doeth good an atom's weight will see it then,
99.008 And whoso doeth ill an atom's weight will see it then.
2.211 Ask of the Children of Israel how many a clear revelation We gave them! He who altereth the grace of Allah after it hath come unto him (for him), lo! Allah is severe in punishment.
2.212 Beautified is the life of the world for those who disbelieve; they make a jest of the believers. But those who keep their duty to Allah will be above them on the Day of Resurrection. Allah giveth without stint to whom He will.
2.213 Mankind were one community, and Allah sent (unto them) prophets as bearers of good tidings and as warners, and revealed therewith the Scripture with the truth that it might judge between mankind concerning that wherein they differed. And only those unto whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it, after clear proofs had come unto them, through hatred one of another. And Allah by His Will guided those who believe unto the truth of that concerning which they differed. Allah guideth whom He will unto a straight path.
The good and bad deeds will be weighed, after compensation has taken place against those who we have aggrieved or who have aggrieved us. If the good deeds are heavier than the bad deeds, then we will be sent to heaven, otherwise it will be Hell-fire.
Those who did not have an atoms weight of belief in God and died in a state of unbelief will not go to heaven even if they committed good deeds. There good deeds will be rewarded here but they will not have any share in the hereafter in terms of going to Heaven. When the last Muslim enters heaven after having been punished in Hell-fire, the remaining people will spend an eternity in Hell-fire and the inhabitants of heaven will remain in heaven for eternity. Animals will also be judged compensation where required and then they will be turned to dust. Hence the inhabitants of Hell-fire will also cry out that they could become like dust and be no more.
078.040 Lo! We warn you of a doom at hand, a day whereon a man will look on that which his own hands have sent before, and the disbeliever will cry: "Would that I were dust!"
Finally, for the non-Believers, if you
sincerely and I mean
sincerely seek God, you will find Him. If you then accept Islam, all your previous major and minor sins are forgiven and providing you keep your faith, you will ultimately be successful in this and the next life to come.
I have met many reverts over the years with their own unique stories. The weirdest one was where a RAF commander began to read the Qur’an with the intention of finding a contradiction or some error. After reading the Qur’an 40 times he finally accepted Islam. A similar story was a woman who did the same thing and accepted after reading the Qur’an 8 times. There was another case where a man from Kosovo became extremely angry when he found out that his sister had become a Muslim. He told me that he was telling her that this was a bad religion, a religion based on terrorism. His sister calmed him down and after 2 years he himself accepted Islam. So there are many who have come out of the darkness and into the light.
