I've attached a copy of an email I received today. I tried to delete all the ads but I left all the contact data so you can find the person and verify their credentials if you care. It is essentially what I talked about a few days ago regarding what I personally thought would be the unintended consequences of the shot gun shutdowns. I was never against targeted closures, just the global shoot from the hip closures that affect way more people than necessary.

Someone asked me a question recently. Why is it safe enough for you to go to the grocery store but it is not safe to go to your office? Why cant landscapers or construction people work? They can organize their work to separate themselves from each other. Closing large venues or places where people are very close to each other such as movie theaters or restaurants makes sense. Even closing religious services makes sense although it is harder for Catholics because they can't receive communion.

Why isn't Walmart allowed to sell seeds for spring planting?

Regarding the "far right" leanings of the two sites. Keep in mind the affect of Confirmation Bias. Every single web search you do is affected by previous links you have clicked on. Therefore, you see what you expect to see. That's why the left thinks everyone in the world hates Trump. I've also commented on the danger of Google and Facebook to the future of freedom.

So, just because the sites are right leaning, do you not believe that the House is attempting to pass laws to prevent Trump from exercising his prerogatives as President?

We can't get seeds here in the UK either. But I bet Walmart still sell guns for spring shooting.

I grew up in an area which consisted of mostly Wall Streeters and a majority of friends from high school went on to work there. The most motivating factor for any of them was not whether or not you made money but whether or not they could extract a brokerage fee from you. So my opinion of them is suspect from the get go.

As far as Mr. Varney he appears to write newsletters for a wide range of publications. Since his claim to fame seems to be the Oxford club my first search turned this up and again I'll just leave it there.

The Oxford Club is not a scam.

However, this service has been involved (and still is) in somewhat misleading promotions in the past, including bold, vague, and somewhat ridiculous claims in order to get new subscribers.

Upon looking into the company further I was able to find out that this place is actually owned by a much larger company called The Agora, which was founded back in 1978 by Bill Bonner.

Why do I bring this up? Well, because The Agora is also the parent company of Agora Financial, Stansberry Research, Banyan Hill Publishing, Money Map Press--all of which have a fairly bad reputation for unethical marketing tactics--along with others. That said, each company is independently operated, but it's interesting that so many of them are so similar with their misleading marketing tactics.

You're making me want to run right out and buy a new gun ;) Here in the US, we're allowed to own guns. We don't have to kill strangers with knives or bombs.

If any of you are wondering why I'm taking this so personally -

My daughter woke up in the middle of the night two weeks ago and found my granddaughters sobbing. They've been laid off from their after school job and they are unlikely to be able to collect unemployment because of the LIES the unemployment site is instructing them to tell because they were laid off as a direct result of the state closing the schools. They only work 20 hours per week in the after school program but they work full time during the summer at a summer camp. They are NOT allowed to list the summer job because they can only list ONE job. That means that they are unlikely to have enough hours to collect. They both lost their paid internships. It's money (not much) but they can't count it. The site won't let them list more than one job. The summer camp may not be able to open so they are looking at losing their summer jobs also. And even if it does open, their friends from the UK won't be there because the camp can't get anyone to process their visas so their last summer at camp will be a bummer all around. One of the girls graduated from a community college in December and the school has already cancelled the graduation ceremony which was not scheduled until next month. Given that over 10,000,000 people have been laid off, they are never going to get replacement jobs until the economy comes back if it ever does. with 30% of the workforce laid off (worse than the great depression), what chance does a freshly minted college graduate have? One of the twins has a boyfriend and she hasn't seen him in a month because he's in Brooklyn and the infection rate is 35% there she can't see me and neither will her sister or mother be able to see me. They are simply sitting at home watching their lives fall apart.

That is what is happening to the "little" people in this country. They are watching their lives fall apart.

why should I care about this steve? the government has never made any sense. it's paranoia has kept them from updating their system to new stuff for 30 years. what's the point of your post? are you trying to recruit me to write .NET code or convert COBOL to .NET?

but it says in the article that the group called COBOL COWBOYS is taking care of the issue anyway. the only problem is - if they are going to work for the government, the smart thing would be to charge the government out the ass for their skills, since the gov. is a money printing machine anyway. If I had legacy skills like that, there would be no way I'd do the work for free. it wouldn't matter to me how much the government is in debt, because all politicians delay the debt anyway. the tactics just change from person to person. the motivation and method remains the same. however, Reagan and Clinton would be the exceptions.

I agree Pat. Its terrible for many people who fall between the cracks. With any luck your daughter can still provide for them and god forbid they get sick they are young enough to be covered under their parents health insurance, thanks to the ACA. My daughter was just getting her legs under her in a new career. She bought a nice car, a motorcycle, paid all her own bills, and took some vacations. Now shes stuck home with me. Luckily Massachusetts has a very liberal social safety net. When she aged off my health insurance she was able to buy her own through the states health connector at a steep discount which she can still afford while being unable to work. The unemployment shes recieving is just enough to keep her from falling too far behind in her bills so she hopefully will exit this nightmare with little ill effects.
I'm sure our economy will bounce back, hopefully with the realization that it is the little people who fuel it.
 
For me and my family, we're all doing good. Just being in all the time is a bit of a challenge, but like all things, this to will pass. I pray that all of you and your family is going well.
 
Thank you, Charles. So far, so good for me and my wife. My stepson and grandsons are apparently doing OK too.

@vba_php Last night, me and Satomi (My wife) were reading several posts here. Since she can't speak English, I was translating and she was listening. I came across several posts of you talking about your God and your Christ. She insisted to hear more. I searched your posts and we spent an hour on what you call reality and we call brainwashing.

She asked me to give you an offer.
She invites you to come and stay for one week. She will pay for all your expenses. Flight ticket, food, anything. You don't need to spend one dollar.
There's only one condition:

She will take care of you and will take you to see our cities, our society, our culture, people and anything else you want to see.
She will show you that a whole civilization can survive without believing in God and knowing who Christ or the holly son is. She will show you a generation that has been here for several thousands years without praying to Jesus or Mohammad or Moses and their gods. And yet much better than you who believes him, possibility go to church on Sunday and then talk to others in this disrespectful manner.

Her conditions :
  1. Put away all your prejudice, Leave your God where you are. Come and see a new world without GOD. Don't try to prove the Lord said this or said that. Try to research : Does God Really exists?
  2. She knows according to any religion, Prophets are sent to make people better. She will show you a world full of kindness. Prove to her why still we need to believe God if we are not evil.

My conditions:
  1. I will stay in a hotel while you are here. I can't spend a moment with somebody who talks to others in this way.
  2. I will ask my son to be with his mother. I am not comfortable to leave her alone with somebody with your personality.

PS: I don't need you to explain anything here. Because to be true, I won't read it. If you accept the conditions, just post Accepted and a date you can manage to be here.
PPS: Our borders are closed to several countries, including USA. The date is accepted when our borders are open again.

@Tera I don't think so. nice offer, but you can tell your wife she isn't going anywhere without the son in her life. but then again, I don't need to tell you that. actually, aren't there christians in Japan? I'm pretty sure there are in every country of the world. in some they are more welcome than in others.

i'm pretty much flattered that someone would pay for my expenses to come and attempt to prove a point. that's just like the hackers that would attend Steve Jobs' presentations to try and attack his network because they were pissed off at the confidence he exuded and the fact that he knew what he was doing. but he was able to get right through it.

Tera, that was a very generous offer. I am neither surprised that Adam turned it down nor surprised that he managed to sneak in a sly reference to Jesus. ("your wife isn't going anywhere without THE son" rather than "HER son.") He doesn't get the fact that more people on Earth do without Jesus than those that believe. If you count atheists, Muslims, several shamanistic tribes in various places, and Buddhists, that outnumbers Christians by a lot.

Tera, I don't have the ability to offer lodging or accommodations, but after COVID-19 is no longer an issue, if you ever found your way to New Orleans I would be happy to show you some sights around the town. Depending on your digestion, I know some places that could give you some typical Creole cuisine and there is always a concert or festival of some kind in our fair city (except Christmas and New Year's). Just try to reach me through the forum if that ever becomes something to pursue.
